 19th   All Maharashtra Medico Open  Medico Sports Festival was organised by Dr. Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation, on  Saturday 11th February 2017  at Thane Officers’ Club,Thane (East), and Sunday 12 th February 2017 at Mulund Gymkhana,Mumbai. More than 150 doctors from all corners of Maharashtra viz. Nagpur,Yavatmal, Aurangabad,Buldhana,Parbhani, Nasik, Khopoli ,Chiplun, Roha and Pune etc. took very active part in this Tournament. It is the oldest state level event in Medico Field for last 18 years. Next year we are planning to hold inter-district event and later on National level.
Dr.Rahul Chopade, A well known Orthopedic Surgeon  from Malkapur played remarkably to clinch  8th  Late Shri. D.B.Sahasrabudhe Memorial All Maharashtra Open Lawn Tennis Trophy, a symbol of supremacy in Medico Lawn Tennis. In doubles pairing with Dr. Basir Khan,Psychriatist  from Parbhani defeated Dr. Kiran Kinnikar, Dentist and Dr. Pranit Narale from Solapur 7-6 (13-11),,5-7,6-4 thus scalping double crown.
Badminton: A well known Orthropoedic Surgeon from Pune,Dr. Darpan Maheshwari played  wonderfully to defeat Dr. Dipan Gupta (Pune) and later on pairing with him defeated Dr.Anup Ingle and Dr. Rajesh Jatkar from Buldhana to retain The Double Crown
Dr.Satish Paprikar, a Gynaecologist and  Dr.Shirish Ghan, An ENT Surgeon Both from Nasik Road, played handsomely to outclassed Dr. Sachin Panwalkar and Dr. Ninand Lubri both from Ratnagiri  and won 19th Late Shri V.G.Vaze Memorial All Maharashtra 45 plus Badminton  Doubles title
Dr. Gyaneshwar Shinde from Sangli and Dr. (Mrs)Madhuri Raut  from Baramati played superbly to defeat Dr. Siddharth Parchure (Pune) and Dr.(Mrs.)Hema Barge (Baramati)  to won The Title in Badminton Mixed Doubles Category
Chess: A well Known Sonologist from Santacruz, Dr. Mahendra Shrstha remain undefeated throughout the tournament  to clinch 19th  Late Shri V.G.Vaze Memorial All Maharashtra Open Medico Chess Rotating Trophy
In Carrom : It was all and but all Dr.Prakash Gaikwad’s show. He won for consecutively 7th Times Single Title
In Table Tennis:A well Known Spine Surgeon from Lilavati Hospital, Dr. Tanay Prabhoo, taken into stride last year title holder Dr. Mayuresh Kulkarni, a Cardiologist from Nasik   to clinchThe Title. 
Mr. Dhiraj Mishra, Record Holder in SAF Game at Sri Lanka,Commonwealth Youth Games Recorder holder and 14 Gold Medal Winner at National level in Triple Jump Event  was The Chief Guest and gave the prizes.   It is learnt from Dr. Prakash Vaze, Managing Trustee of the Sports Foundation.

Gurukul The School, Dombivali and New Horizon Scholars School ,Airoli did well to scalp The Title in Upto 7/8 Std & 3rd Std. and Upto 1/2nd  Std. Category respectively  and eventually they clinch 19th  Smt. Susheela Vaze Memorial Rotating chess Trophy , a symbol of supremacy in Inter School Chess Team Championship, organised by Dr. Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation and Maratha Mandal, Mulund, Mumbai under The Auspices of Mumbai Suburban District Chess association  on, Sunday 28th  August 2016 at Mulund  Maratha Hall Mulund (East) ,Mumbai. In all Gurukul The Day School won 5 Trophies out of 18 Trophies while New Horizon Scholars School, won 4 trophies. There was tremendous response by more than 450  participating students  As we expected, more than 200 new students took part for The First Time in the Chess Competition.

22nd Free Cricket Umpiring Coaching Classes was inaugurated by Former International Cricket Test Umpire, Mr. Piloo Reporter on Sunday 2nd April 2017 at Dr. Prakash Vaze’ Dispensary, A-1, Swapnil Society, G. V. Scheme Road, Mulund(East), Mumbai-400081. Mr. Pralhad Nakhwa, The Sports Reporter from Thane was The Guest of Honour. About 20 students so far enrolled for these classes.
Dr. Prakash Vaze,1987 M.C.A.  Gold Medallist Cricket Umpire welcome everybody . He said that we are very proud to mention that Mr. Shreesh Raje, one of our last year student scored 99 marks out of 100 marks. Mr. Reporter narrated his experience during  52 years Umpiring services . He emphasizes on importance of Regularity and punctuality. Mr. Pralhad Nakhwa  pointed out that Mr. Piloo Reporter and Dr. K.B. Ramaswamy  (Hyderabad) were invited as first neutral umpires by Pakistan’s Skipper Mr. Imraqn Khan and West Indian Captain Mr. Viv Richardsaon.  At end both express their Best wishes for these classes.

Dr.Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation is going to organize FREE CRICKET UMPIRING COACHING CLASSES  
From Sunday 2nd  April 2017 to 2nd  July 2017  on every Sunday between 1.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.

It is open to Public of any age and is absolutely Free.

Since Ladies Cricket is growing fast now, the need & demands for Ladies Cricket Umpires is also likely to be very much there in near future. Hence we appeal to All Ladies to take maximum advantage of these classes by enrolling in a large numbers.

Coaches: Dr.Prakash Vaze, A Gold Medallist in M.C.A. Umpiring examination in 1987 will be in charge of these classes. Former Cricket Test Umpire,Mr.Pilloo Reporter, and Former International Umpire, Mr. M.R.Singh will be visiting  faculties. We are proud to mention that during last 21 years or so , 10 to 12 students from our classes have secured Top rank in Mumbai Cricket Association’s Umpiring Examination. Last year, One of our student Shreesh Raje scored 99 marks of out 100 marks in written examination of Mumbai Cricket Association 2016.
These classes are also useful for scorers’ examination.

Shantanu Bhambure from Pune played remarkably well by securing 8.5 out of 9 pts thus remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. He wins First cash Prize of Rs.20,000/- amongst more than 200 studded National Fide rated Players thus lifting " 5th Sou. Nirmala Vaze Memorial All India Open Fide Rating Rapid Chess Trophy", a symbol of supremacy in such new format of Chess Tournament..It was powered by Pitambari Products Pvt. Ltd. Thane. In such format, probably first tournament in Mumbai, which was organized by Dr..Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation on 10th and 11th Dec Maratha Mandal Hall.Mumbai. It was recognized by All India Chess federation and Maharashtra/Mumbai Suburban District Chess Association .Event code No. 143677/MAH/2016. More than 450 players participated in this tournament.
On Sunday 11th December 2016 from 2.00 to 7.00 p.m. 1st Sou. Seema Joshi Memorial Open Blitz Chess Tournament was conducted at same place.
Amardeep Bartakke fromWestern Rly. And Thane played wonderfully in last round to hold a draw with Rating Rapid Chess Champion Shantanu to clinch the title by scoring on 8 equal point but better on Buch hole point (53 to 52-5 ) and pocketed Rs.6000/- Special mention of Women I.M and Padmashree &Arjun Award recipient Mrs.Bhagashree Thipsay and I.M.Sharad Tilak from Thane took part in this tournament. Apart from those, another four I.M., Sapatshri Roy from Calcutta, Ramanath Balsubramanium from Tamil Nadu, Nubairshah Shaikh fromThane and Ms.Parnali Dharia took part in both tournaments.

Nieneteen Late Shri V.G.Vaze Memorial Rotating OpenChess Trophy  was  organized under the Auspices of  Mumbai Subarban District  Chess Association,  by Dr. Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation and Maratha Mandal,Mulund,Mumbai  jointly  on Sunday 26st  June 2016  at  Mulund Maratha Mandal Hall,lund (East),Mumbai.   In this tournament, more than 150 national rated players took part, hence it was very keenly and closely contested. In all there were more than 400  participants,   In all Total Cash Prize of Rs.30,000/- and 25 Trophies were awarded.

International  Chess Master Vikramaditya Kulkarni from Dombivali  did remarkedly well by securing  8.5 points out of 9 points, thus remaining undefeated throughout the tournament to   lift The symbol of  Supremacy in Rapid Chess Tournament, 19th La te Shri. V.G.Vaze Memorial Rotating Open Chess Trophy and also became richer by Rs.8000/-

Kalyan Boy Chirag Satkar - New Champion 
Seventeenth Late Shri V.G.Vaze Memorial Rotating OpenChess Trophy  was  organized under the Auspices of Bombay Chess Association,  by Dr. Prakash Vaze Sports Foundation on Sunday 29th June 2014  at  Mulund Maratha Mandal Hall,Mulund (East),Mumbai.   In this tournament, about 100 national rated players  took part, hence it was very keenly and closely contested. In all there were about 350  participants.   In all Total Cash Prize of Rs.20,000/- and 20 Trophies, worth more than Rs.25,000/- (Rs. Twenty Five Thousands only)

Kalyan boy Master Chirag Satkar  did remarkedly well by securing  8 out of 9 points, to remain unbeaten throught out the Tournament and lifted The symbol of  Supremacy in Rapid Chess Tournament, 17th Late Shri. V.G.Vaze Memorial Rotating Open Chess Trophy and also became richer by Rs.5000/- Actually He tied up Mr. Rajababu Gajengi and IM Vikramaditya Kulkarniwith 8 pts but he was better with  more Buckhol points (58 to 56.5and 54.5) respectively. It shows how closely and keenly was contested. Incidentally, he started his chess career, when he first took part in this tournament in year 1998.
